Microneedle therapy with dermapen
Dermapen is a device for microneedle mesotherapy designed to work with active substances. It assists their deep penetration into the skin by means of micro pricks.
The dermapen procedure is performed with a “pen” whose tip is fitted with dozens of nano needles. The needles are extremely gentle on the skin and do not cause severe pain. Depending on the condition of the skin, the depth of the pricks can vary up to 3 mm maximum.
On contact with the skin, the needles penetrate the epidermis and dermis. Sterile injectable mesotherapy solutions are used during the procedure to enhance the effect of mechanical stimulation. The microchannels formed allow substances to penetrate more quickly into the deeper layers of the skin.
Dermapen treatment is a powerful method of improving the appearance of the skin by enhancing the body’s natural ability to renew and repair it by stimulating the production of elastin and collagen. Visibly reduces wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, surgical scars and stretch marks, tightens and rejuvenates the skin.
IMPORTANT
For each patient, depending on the individual needs and characteristics of the skin, an individual program is developed – the number of treatments and the composition of the cocktail introduced into the skin. Esteline Dermatology Clinic works only with preparations that are officially registered for use in Bulgaria, clinically tested and with quality certificates.
Suitable for all skin types and seasons, the treatment can be combined with other treatments to achieve maximum effect.
What is the procedure?
Depending on the problem, an anaesthetic cream may initially be applied to the areas to be treated, waiting 20-30 minutes. The therapist cleanses the face, then proceeds to treat the skin with longitudinal or circular movements of the dermapen. After the first pass, the therapist applies and rubs an active serum over the skin, then treats the areas 3-4 more times. The treatment ends with a soothing cream or mask and application of sunscreen. During the procedure, very slight discomfort is felt because of the sharp pricks. The duration of the procedure depends on the size of the treated area. For the whole face it lasts about 20 minutes.
What are the contraindications and side effects?
The procedure is not performed on broken or inflamed skin, as well as on protruding moles, warts or lesions in the treatment area.
Other contraindications are the presence of herpes, active acne, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea and blood clotting problems.
Immediately after the procedure, a burning sensation is felt, which subsides within 30 minutes. Possible side effects of the procedure such as redness or tightness are observed immediately after the procedure and subside within 24 hours.
When does it occur and what is the duration of the effect?
The effect of dermapen therapy is a process and there are no immediate results. Slight skin improvement may be observed 6 to 8 days after therapy. Optimal result is noticed after about a month and a half.
What is the recommended care after the procedure?
Avoid getting your face wet in the first 12 hours, and avoid applying makeup for at least 6 hours after the procedure. Strict use of sunscreen. It is recommended to apply a regenerating, epithelizing cream, as well as a home care product with a regenerating skin composition.
What is the recommended number and frequency of treatments?
A more significant difference in skin condition is observed after 2-3 treatments. The entire course of treatment is usually 5 to 6 treatments, which is optimal for a significant change in the appearance of the skin. The skin usually regenerates in 45 days. The improvement of its texture after dermapen therapy lasts up to several months after the completion of treatment. Dermapen therapy is most effective when administered in a series of treatments, with four weeks of rest between each to allow the skin to recover naturally.
